The Art of Racing in the Rain

The Art of Racing in the Rain - Garth Stein I don't normally read animal books, they are too sad but if you know me, you know I love animals. I can't tell you how many times I passed this book over or why I picked it up when I did, but I can tell you I am so glad that I read it.

This is an amazing story told from the viewpoint of a dog. A dog who is old and getting ready to cross the rainbow bridge and as he is trying to prepare his human he tells us the story of his life.

This is not just a dog story, though it is told my a dog. This is a story about family, love, pain, and just about every other emotion that you can think of. You laugh and yes you will cry but they will be tears mixed with happiness and sadness.

I believe animals think, feel and know a way more than we give them credit for. They are not just dumb animals. Reading this book sure makes me look at my little Napoleon the Rat Terrier and really wonder what goes on in his head.

I dont highly recommend many books but this I do. Read it and experience life through the eyes of Enzo, you won't regret it.
